New Zealand Transport Department MkII Ford Zephyr Patrol Car

1/43 scale model based on Corgi diecast.

Predecessor to the Ministry of Transport, The NZ Transport Department was responsible for patrolling New Zealand's roads.  The MkII Zephyr was one of the cars that the Traffic Dept used during the 1960s and was fitted with a rotating roof beacon, illuminated "TRAFFIC" sign in the windscreen, and 2 way radio.  On 16th September 1970 Wellington City Council agreed to hand over responsibility of traffic enforcement to the Government's Transport Department and their own traffic department from then on was disbanded.

This model is a limited edition release of only 50 and comes mounted in a plastic display case.
